Homecoming 2022

With three girls in high school, Homecoming is a big deal!!!  From the mums and garters to the dresses and plans, the event requires lots of preparation and planning.
First, there is the asking!  Clare was asked by her friend, Jackson, and they went with a big group.

Sydney and Jane went with a big group of freshman, and Sydney's date, Jarren, came over to ask her!

Then there is the mum/garter exchange!

Eventually, it's time for the dance!!!  My three beautiful girls.

Jane and Sydney's group was huge!  They did pictures, dinner, dance and then went to a friend's house.

Clare's group met at a country club for pictures and dinner!

Allen homecoming was a success!  The kicker was Jane was asked to another school's homecoming a few weeks later!  So, we did the whole thing again!

That's a wrap on Homecoming season!!!

VOLLEYBALL!!!!

Tryouts for volleyball started in early August.  It was a time-consuming, stressful time, but the girls never complained.  They had worked hard all summer, but knew that it would be a long shot to make the time because three schools were joining together.  On the final day of tryouts, each girl was brought in to the coaches' office to receive their fate.

I'll never forget the excited girls running out of that gym to tell us that they had made it!  Such a fun moment.  Sydney made A team, and Jane made B team, and both girls were thrilled.

That night began a whirlwind of buying uniforms, starting practices, tournaments, kick-off dinners, and meeting new teammates!  The excitement was palpable, and the girls were excited to start at a new school with their volleyball crew.

The volleyball season is fast and furious.  Two games per week with tournaments sprinkled thorughout.  There were highs and lows for both girls, but it was such a fun experience that I am so thankful they had the opportunity to be a part of it all.

The season ended with a banquet!

I'm not sure what their volleyball future holds, but I do know that they will always have fond memories from their freshman year.  Casey and I are so proud of all of their hard work.

The Rest of Summer

It seems that time is passing me by, but I don't want to forget these memories.  On July 6th, Casey baptized Clare at our home church.  It was a special day, and one that I will treasure in my heart forever.

She was lucky to have a bunch of her friends join in for the celebration.

At the end of July, we headed off to our second annual trip to Florida.  This trip meant more to us than normal because our Colorado trip got cancelled due to Covid.  Such a bummer.  So, needless to say, we were excited to get out of town together.

Our trip to Florida has become something I look forward to as a fun week of family time.  It's not all sunshine and roses, but it's fun to get out of town together and enjoy the sunny beaches of Florida!

We're still figuring out all of our favorite restaurants and activities, but the main ingredients are lots of beach time, some shopping, and some good seafood!

We returned from Florida ready to gear up for volleyball tryouts and school!

Summer Fun

We have been on summer break for three or four weeks or so!  Here's a glimpse at what we've been up to!!

The girls are so lucky that Deedee takes them to get their nails done, and they love it!!  They get some crazy stuff done!

We celebrated Landon and Liam's birthdays.  Those boys are so cute!!

Sometimes I feel like it's hard to get everyone home at the same time....so I implemented Family Fun Night!  First time, we headed to the Rangers' game!  Even when the girls roll their eyes, I think they had fun!

Clare went to the lake with her friends.  Tough life!

The sports have continued!  The Renegades won the championship ring in the silver bracket!

He went to a football camp at the high school!

He guest played on a baseball team for a tournament and they won another ring!

Nice to have the girls home more...they can help me with my hair!

Jane and Sydney went to the lake too!  They love lake time!

Clare left for Kadesh!  Her fourth year to go with Isabella!  Can't wait to get her back!!!

That's a quick look at what's been going for the first few weeks of summer!
