ACU's Learning to Lead

Jane and Sydney checked off another milestone this summer! They spent a week away at overnight camp! We took them on Sunday and helped them set up their room. They stayed in a college dorm. 

I wasn't able to talk with them all week, but some nice friends sent and posted pictures throughout the week.

They rode the van home with our church group.  They were deliriously tired, but seemed to have so much fun!  They both said that they would go back again.

I enjoyed the week with Clare and Graham while the twins were away,

but I really love when everyone is back under the same roof!!

Barbecue and the Beach!

We spent a long weekend in Galveston, and had a great time.  Casey is on a quest to eat at the Top 50 BBQ spots in Texas.  We knocked off five, in and around Houston on the way there and back.  I am going to let the pictures do the talking!!

Check out the crab we caught.  Graham named him Jimmy!  

We took a dolphin cruise, and spotted a few dolphins.  The kids were also very intrigued by the giant cruise ships!

Henna tattoos!  They were gone within two weeks...thankfully!

We had a great trip...and lots of good barbecue!

Graham's 7th Birthday Party...finally!

After much waiting, it was finally time to have Graham's "friend party!"  He had all of his friends to the neighborhood pool on June 1st.  We had pizza, cake and plenty of water guns!

These boys are so fun to watch play together.  They are happy whether they are playing soccer, baseball, swimming....just hanging out!  So fun!

L.D.O.S.

The last day was May 31st, and some were happier than others!  Clare was especially thrilled because she had an extra-special day ahead of her.

Graham was ready to put in his final day as a first grader!

Jane and Sydney weren't quite ready to be done.  Fourth grade has been their favorite!

These pictures were taken a few days earlier, but these two ladies are rock star teachers!!!

Sixth grade does it up right.  They had a huge party all morning, complete with euro bungee, a giant water slide, pizza, ice cream truck, etc.  It was quite an event!

In the afternoon, they had an End of Year Celebration.  They received certificates and had a balloon release.

The class of 2024.  I'm sure her actual graduation will be here before we know it!

It wasn't all smiles at the end of the day.  Jane and Sydney were distraught that their year was over.  They have LOVED their teachers and had the best year.  It will be hard for future years to measure up.  Great teachers make such a difference.  As does a comforting hug from dad!

Tradition dictates that the kids have a sign up when they get home on the last day of school.  Not sure what happened....I didn't get a picture of Sydney!
