Extreme Home Makeover: Twins' Room Edition

They're almost three....and now they're free!!!!
We have moved Jane and Sydney into big girl beds!

This weekend, we sent the girls to spend the night at the grandparents' houses. While they were gone, Casey and I got to work transforming the boring, green, crib room into a fun, bright, big girl bed room! For the past few weeks, we have been preparing for the big switch. We upholstered headboards, bought and painted a dresser, researched rain gutter bookshelves, the grandmas sewed pillows, dust ruffles, and curtains, and we gathered materials.

Here are the before shots:

When the girls got home, we told them we had an early birthday present for them. We led them upstairs to their room and let them see their new digs!

Despite Sydney's first question being, "Why didn't you get me Tinkerbell stuff?," I think they both liked it.

Here's hoping they like SLEEPING in big girl beds!!!!

Clare's Thanksgiving Feast

Last week, our biggest Indian hosted us for a Thanksgiving feast at her school. Jane and Sydney were so excited to get to eat at Clare's school!

All of the girls enjoyed the special treat of seeing Daddy in the middle of the day!

Clare is having a great year at school, and she was happy to show us around!

Jane was looking pretty cute when she tried on Clare's headdress and Indian vest.

With our whole family eating lunch together in the middle of the week, I was feeling pretty thankful. Even with TWO spilled cups of lemonade!

Fairy, Fairy March to the Apron

Today, we are driving home from picking up Clare at school. Jane is growing increasingly frustrated, asking me to sing a song. Our conversation goes like this:

Jane: Mommy, sing Fairy, Fairy March to the Apron!
Me: Jane, I don't know that song.
Jane: You sang it this morning in the car. When we took Clare to school. You do know it.
Me: (Racking my brain)...I don't remember that song. I am sorry.
Jane: MOMMY, SING FAIRY, FAIRY MARCH TO THE APRON!
Me: Clare, do you know what she is talking about?
Clare: Jane, is it Mary, Mary Quite Contrary?
Jane: NO! Fairy, Fairy March to the Apron!
Me: Syd, do you know?
Sydney: January, March, April.
Jane and Me: That's it! January, February, March and April!

That morning on the way to school we sang the Months of the Year song....January, February, March, April, etc...all the way through to December. Guess Jane didn't get the lyrics quite right!

Life

Life is good. Busy and exhausting, but good.

Although it is impossible to believe, Jane and Sydney will be three in a few weeks, and Clare is almost half-way done with her last year of preschool. Baby number four is scheduled to reveal it's gender on December 6th.

Our days are filled with preschool, ballet, family time, trips to the park, laughter, painting fingernails, art projects, breaking up arguments, playing school and babies, and the occasional (much-needed) nap. Just like everyone else, life is busy. But honestly, I don't know what I'd be doing if I weren't filling my days with all of these things. I do know that there isn't anything else I'd rather be doing!

Wheels

We spent some time outside today enjoying the beautiful fall weather. I love the long driveway at our house where the girls can get plenty of practice on their various forms of "wheels."
