Storytime Live!

Thanks to Deedee, we had a fun girls' night out at the theater last night!
We went to go see Dora, Kai-lan, Wonder Pets, and The Backyardigans!


The girls thoroughly enjoyed the show. They waved and yelled at their favorite friends!

I think they were as excited about their souvenirs as they were about the actual show!

Visit From Old Friends

We didn't have a lot going on today, so I decided to get out my box of Care Bears from when I was a little girl.

The girls thought we'd struck gold!
We spent some time looking up each bears' name, and the girls placed dibs on particular bears.

The new furry friends even accompanied us to the park!



I'd say this is recycling at it's finest!

Putting Her Foot Down

The other night, Clare and I were saying her prayers before bed. She get this serious look on her face and asks,
"When we go to Heaven, do we get to take our stuff?"

I replied, "No, you leave it here. But Heaven will have everything you want."


She is quiet for a minute, looks up to her wall, and says matter-of-factly, "I'm takin' my butterflies."

Ballet Beginings

Today was Clare's first day of ballet and tap. Is there anything cuter than little girls in leotards and tights?!

She had a good time at her first class, and came home to teach her little sisters the "moves."

Of course, when Jane and Sydney saw Clare in her leotard, they had to put theirs on...

...and they wore them to the park!


And then they took it to a whole new level and added the rain boots!



I think it might catch on...ballet in boots!

Baby Dolls

All three of my girls have been into babies lately. For Clare, this is no new trend. She has been Izzy's "mommy" for quite some time. Jane was quick to follow in her love of babies. She can often be seen carrying around "her Izzy."

But even Sydney got in on the action the other day.

The other day the girls were helping me cook, and they even brought Izzy over to participate in that. You can see Syd is giving her a little bite.

How Quickly They Learn!

When I was pregnant with Clare, we spent a lot of time discussing names. Casey and I both really like family names. All three of our girls have family names somewhere in their first or middle names. We finally decided on "Clare" because it is my grandmother's middle name and my middle name. Because it is a family name, we kept the spelling "Clare," instead of the more common "Claire."

During the week of VBS, Clare walked into her classroom and was talking with her teacher who was filling out name tags. Her teacher said, "What's your name?" and
Miss Priss responded, "Clare, with no 'i'."

I guess she will handle having the less common spelling just fine!

Colorado 2010

We just returned from our annual trip to Colorado! We had a full house this year with our family, my brother's family, and my parents!

We rode 4-wheelers,



ate,

fished,

relaxed,

rode horses (that's right...all three girls rode horses),

and had lots of "cousin time."

And that doesn't even cover getting faces painted, playing games, water gun fights, celebrating my birthday, and just enjoying being in cooler weather! It was a fun, full week!
