Sports Center

This fall has been BUSY with sports!!  Graham was on a new baseball team this season.  There were lots of ups and downs, but they finished the season on a serious high when they won the tournament!   That victory earned them a ring.  Graham's first ring!  He was thrilled!

Then, his football team won the Super Bowl!!!  Graham was super excited, but I think Casey might have been the most excited.  They dominated in their last game, and won 22-0.   I was glad it wasn't close....those close games stress me out!

Jane and Sydney finished up an undefeated volleyball season.  They love playing, but for a variety of reasons, they were ready for this season to be over.  On to bigger and better things...

....like basketball!  They had their first game last week, and they both won.  (They are playing on different teams.)  Should be a fun season!

No sports for Clare, but she has been spending her time..... working!  She got her first job!

She likes the work, and she really likes her growing bank account!!

Homecoming

Our first Homecoming was a little over a month ago!  We found Clare's dress on our first shopping trip, and I loved it!

Clare went with a big group of people, and the parents went at the beginning to take pictures.  It was a nice day, but a tad windy.

It was fun to see all of her friends all dressed up.  They clean up well!

They had dinner, went to the dance, and then went back to a friend's house for the after-party.

"Hoco" 2021 was a success!  (...and I got this beautiful picture of my girl!!!)

Covid Hits Home

At the end of August, we got word that several boys on Graham's baseball team had tested positive for Covid.  After some back and forth and hearing more of his buddies were positive, we decided to have Graham tested.  Lo and behold, he was positive.  His only symptom was some very mild congestion, but he was home from school for 10 days.

Graham decided early in his quarantine that he would not wear a shirt for the duration of the 10 days....and he succeeded!  He really had a good attitude about the whole thing.  He felt fine, so by the end of it all, he was definitely ready to get out and see some people!

He played a lot of video games!!

He did have some school work to do!

He worked on his yo-yoing skills.

And we even played a few games.

He also learned to whistle, which was a real treat for everyone else around!!!  I am so thankful that he wasn't very sick, and hopefully we can stay healthy for the future!!

Back to School

Whether we were ready or not, the middle of August meant it was time to head back to school.

Graham is in 5th grade, and had a great first day!  He's at the same school, so he didn't have too many first day jitters.

Jane and Sydney are in 8th grade.  Combined with the first day of school, they also had to deal with volleyball tryouts!!!

They're at the same school, so they were feeling good about school.  They both made the volleyball team, so all is good.

Clare is a sophomore and she was off to a big new school.  She said she was so nervous she almost felt sick!

Thankfully, she had some good friends to go in with!

Here's my dramatic, through the windshield picture.  Felt like I was sending her into the great unknown! Thankfully, she had a great day, and she has settled in nicely!

It's been a crazy year already, but more about that in the next post.....

Road Trippin'

In the month of July, we drove over 3,000 miles for two different road trips!!

We started with our annual trip to Colorado.  This year was a little different because LoLo just had hip surgery and Nathan and Megan now officially live Crested Butte!

Our first full day there was the Fourth of July!  We watched the parade and went to the cookout, and the cousins got their newest shirts!

During the week, we hiked, paddle boarded, fished, played frisbee golf, rafted, crafted and played lots of cards!

One day, we even snuck LoLo out for lunch!

I
It was a full, fun week!

Next up, the Eoff Six headed to Seagrove, Fl.  This was something new for us!  We hadn't been to the beach in awhile, and we tried out a new spot.

We spent lots of time at the beach!  I read two books, the kids boogie boarded, found sand dollars, "got tan" and swam their little hearts out.  Graham volunteered to be buried in the sand.  This was about the only time that he wasn't in the water.

We stayed in a condo called Sand's Oasis and it was a great spot!  Steps to the beach.

The one thing the girls wanted was a Seaside t-shirt.  They weren't the only ones with that idea!!!  There was quite a line to get in the store.

We had bikes that we could ride around town, and we ate some good food!!!

Spending a week at the beach is the quintessential carefree vacation.  We had very little on the schedule and just really relaxed and enjoyed each other's company.
