Back to School

Whether we were ready or not, the middle of August meant it was time to head back to school.  

Graham is in 5th grade, and had a great first day!  He's at the same school, so he didn't have too many first day jitters.

Jane and Sydney are in 8th grade.  Combined with the first day of school, they also had to deal with volleyball tryouts!!!

They're at the same school, so they were feeling good about school.  They both made the volleyball team, so all is good.  

Clare is a sophomore and she was off to a big new school.  She said she was so nervous she almost felt sick!

Thankfully, she had some good friends to go in with!

Here's my dramatic, through the windshield picture.  Felt like I was sending her into the great unknown! Thankfully, she had a great day, and she has settled in nicely!

It's been a crazy year already, but more about that in the next post.....

 

Road Trippin'

 In the month of July, we drove over 3,000 miles for two different road trips!!

We started with our annual trip to Colorado.  This year was a little different because LoLo just had hip surgery and Nathan and Megan now officially live Crested Butte!  

Our first full day there was the Fourth of July!  We watched the parade and went to the cookout, and the cousins got their newest shirts!

During the week, we hiked, paddle boarded, fished, played frisbee golf, rafted, crafted and played lots of cards!

One day, we even snuck LoLo out for lunch!

It was a full, fun week!

Next up, the Eoff Six headed to Seagrove, Fl.  This was something new for us!  We hadn't been to the beach in awhile, and we tried out a new spot.

We spent lots of time at the beach!  I read two books, the kids boogie boarded, found sand dollars, "got tan" and swam their little hearts out.  Graham volunteered to be buried in the sand.  This was about the only time that he wasn't in the water.

We stayed in a condo called Sand's Oasis and it was a great spot!  Steps to the beach.

The one thing the girls wanted was a Seaside t-shirt.  They weren't the only ones with that idea!!!  There was quite a line to get in the store.

We had bikes that we could ride around town, and we ate some good food!!!

Spending a week at the beach is the quintessential carefree vacation.  We had very little on the schedule and just really relaxed and enjoyed each other's company.  

Spring Sports

 Spring is a busy time for sports at our house!  Graham played Thunder baseball again.   

He also gave soccer another try with the All Stars.

He played keeper for most of the season.  Their team was undefeated!!

Jane and Sydney played on a volleyball team with friends from school and Casey coached.

Sydney and Jane tried out track.  Sydney enjoyed long jump and triple jump, and Jane enjoyed it when the season was over.

Just so I don't leave Clare out, here is a picture of her looking sporty!

The summer will remain busy.  Jane and Sydney are playing on a different volleyball team.  Graham is playing in an indoor soccer league and the baseball season never ends!! 

Graham is 10!!!

Graham turned 10 in April! We had a family celebration, and Graham got lots of good stuff!

Landon loves Graham, and is always by his side!  So sweet to watch.  

We are taking Graham for the traditional Fort Worth weekend, whenever we can find a spare weekend.  We will make it happen though!!

It was a fun night celebrating my favorite 10 year old!!

Spring Break

 I forgot to post about spring break!!!  Our break started with Clare getting her wisdom teeth out, and man alive, did that provide some entertaining footage.

She did a great job recovering, but it did take her about a week to be back to normal.  Happy to have that behind her!

On Thursday, the girls and I escaped to Southlake for a little getaway.  We shopped, had dinner, stayed in a hotel (where the gym was the most popular spot!), and had a great time!

Graham stayed back and hung with Casey.  They had a good time together....but didn't take any pictures. :-)
