FIFTEEN!

How can it be that Clare is 15?!?  We spent the weekend celebrating her.

She has a bunch of her friends over on Saturday night to hang out and then go see a movie.  It was a fun night, and I always enjoy watching my kids with their friends!

Sunday night we had the family over for another celebration.  It was a beautiful night, and we enjoyed getting together.  Last year we had to take a break on the family gatherings, so it was nice to be able to have everyone over this year.

Here are a few fun facts about Clare!

-She loves her friends!  She is very social and never wants to miss out on a social gathering.

-She STILL loves all things High School Musically, especially Zac Efron.

-She is always excited about something.  Clare always has her sights set on something in the future that she is "SO" excited about.

-She loves Harry Styles, Snap Chat, being tan, and summer!  She can't wait for summer.

-She does well in school, with honestly, little effort.  Imagine what she could do with some effort?!?!

-Right now, she says she wants to be a teacher when she grows up.  We'll see!

-She's getting her driving permit on Friday!

Love my fifteen year old so much!

Snow for Days

We woke up on Valentine's Day to lots of snow!  Little did we know that it was only the beginning!  The younger three kids were excited to go out and try their hands at sledding and any other snow activity they could think of.   Clare was less inclined to "play" in the snow.  It was SO COLD....the coldest temperatures I've ever seen in Texas.

As the week wore on,  we got more snow, and it got colder.  We were lucky and never lost power, but we did have a pipe freeze and burst.  The Texas homes aren't built for these temperatures!!!

I ventured out one morning to take a few pictures.  It was so pretty and there was so much snow.

Later in the week, the sun came out and Clare tried her luck at sledding.  The kids were out of school all week, and she had lots of fun with friends.

No one was quite as adventurous as Graham on the sled, though!

We felt very lucky to have heat and water through the whole ordeal when many people did not.  In true Texas form, it is 70 degrees less than a week later!

Christmas 2020

Christmas 2020 needs to be documented!  We stuck with tradition and went to Deedee and Papaw's on Christmas Eve.

The kids obliged the "stocking picture" before diving into all of opening!

Landon was a great helper!

This was the year for new shoes!

We headed back home and set up for Santa!

Waiting at the top of the stairs to see what Santa brought!

Graham was thrilled with a new dirt bike!

Santa brought all of the girls new phones.  Everyone was happy.  Here are a few more pics from our morning at home.

Jane has taken to coffee drinking.  She got a new Keurig and her own mug!

We followed our morning at home with a trip to LoLo and Pop's.  Jennifer was in town, and we had a
nice day.  We missed Nathan, Megan and Brody though!  Foolishly, I didn't take any pictures!

A few days later we ventured to Mary and Scotty's and celebrated with that crew!  Sydney and Liam were big buds!

Despite being such a crazy year, we had a very merry Christmas!

Jane and Sydney at 13!

Jane and Sydney are 13!!!  We celebrated with family members stopping by the night before their birthday.

Then on the actual day, they had a few friends over and hung out in our backyard.  It is a tough year to have a big party!!! They played volleyball, ate dinner and watched a movie.  And screamed.  There was a lot of screaming.

I was glad we were able to celebrate the girls, even if it wasn't a huge bash.

Here is a little about the girls at 13:

  • Sydney is enjoying choir this year....even though she won't admit it!  She sings all of the time, and she has a pretty darn good voice.  I keep bugging her for a solo next year!!  Here she is before her first choir concert.

  • Jane loves all things comfortable! Here she is in one of her birthday gift...The Comfy!  She loves to end her day snuggled up in her bed and watching Tik Toks or youtube.
  • Both girls tried out for and made the middle school basketball team.  We are so excited to watch them play in January!
  • Sydney loves to do hair and nails.  It is so nice to have someone to do my hair when I need it!
  • Jane is such a good sport.  She'll help me in the kitchen; she'll go watch her brother play sports; she'll ride with me on an errand.  She will even pose for pictures for me.
  • Sydney got her braces off in August.
  • Jane got her braces on in June!

Jane and Sydney continue to brighten everyday!  They are so fun, and I am so thankful they are mine!

A Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving was at Deedee and Papaw's this year, and we were lucky to have a beautiful day!

One thing I have learned during 2020 is there is no one that I'd rather be stuck at home with than these people!  So thankful for this family of mine!

There was delicious food that made us all feel like this....

Of course, Deedee had lots of fun stuff to do.  We made gnome ornaments and decorated gingerbread houses.

It was a great day!  Thank you Deedee and Papaw!

Halloween 2020

Halloween has come and gone!  I'm not going to lie....my heart wasn't in it this year.  But the kids made their own plans, and they had a great time!!

Jane and Sydney decided to go as cows with their friends.  Deedee did a photo shoot with all of the cattle!  The pictures turned out so cute!

Clare and her friends decided to go watch a scary movie....in Christmas pajamas!

Graham picked Iron Man from the store!  Easiest costume he's ever worn!

He went trick-or-treating with some friends, and they scored a lot of candy!

Here are the fab four in their non-coordinated, non-themed Halloween costumes!
