Happy 4th Birthday Graham!

"Little boys should never be sent to bed.  They always wake up a day older."  -Peter Pan
Happy, happy birthday to my sweet Graham.  Your smile lights up a room, and it is such a delight to be your mom.  Hope your fourth birthday is the happiest yet.

Turtle Power: Party Style!

The fourth birthday has always been the one where my kids get to start inviting friends....before that it is just family! So, this is a big year for Graham. He decided early on that he wanted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party.   We decided to get a bounce house and celebrate at our house.  He invited the boys from his class, and we were ready to party!
Graham must be living right because it rained and stormed the entire week before his party, but Saturday morning we woke up to a beautiful day!  It was perfect, and I was relieved!!!
The boys bounced

and played bean bag toss and played in the fort until they were all hot and sweaty!
Graham's cheeks were so red throughout the whole party!
We took a bouncing break to open presents...
and to have cake!

It was a fun and easy party.  We sent the guests away with small party favors,

and then it was time for the family party!  The whole family, including Aunt Morgan,  came over to celebrate with Graham.
The bounce house hung around for a few more hours, so we continued the celebration with some pizza and more partying!
He was so funny opening his presents; he said "why are y'all guys just staring at me?"
He got a ton of great gifts, including a new, bigger bike.  We spent some time today working on riding it.  He has had a balance bike, so we are hoping he can get this one down without training wheels.  We'll see.
Graham had such a great party day.  He loved every minute of it, and I loved watching it.  At church this morning, he looked up to Casey and said "I loved my birthday party."  Makes it all worth it!

Slumber Party!!!

My little man has a birthday coming up, and unfortunately Brody is going to be out of town for Graham's party.  So, Brody invited Graham to come to his house for a slumber party.  Graham LOVES Brody, so he was super excited about this idea!
This weekend was the big event.  Graham was sure to tell everyone that he was going to a slumber party "by myself!"  He did not want his sisters to have any part of this fun!
We asked Graham what he thought they would play, and he answered "probably weapons."
Nathan and Megan were quite the hosts...taking them to the Lego store
and out to dinner for pizza (and sending me pictures of all of the fun!)
Rumor has it that there was even a bit of slumber involved!

I think this slumber party lived up to Graham's high expectations.  He loved it...and is already asking when he can go back!  I think it may be our turn to host the next one!

I've covered Clare's two birthday parties, but I didn't write much about Clare herself!  Without further ado, nine things about Clare at nine!

1.  Clare has really taken to swimming!  She swims twice a week, and will hopefully join some sort of 'swim team' in the near future!

2.  Clare is tall!  She's the tallest of her group of friends.  When we went Easter shopping, I had to buy her a size 6 shoe.  A women's size 6!  Does that seem crazy to anyone else?!?!

3.  She continues to be great with younger kids.  I can count on her to keep little ones in line.  Perhaps because she can be a tad bit bossy????

4.  She does great at school.  I never worry about her behavior at school; I think she is a teacher's dream.  She is a great reader, doesn't love math just yet, and loves art!!

5.  Her favorite show is Dancing With The Stars.  She loves Monday nights!

6.  She is writing her first book, thanks to a kit that LoLo and Pop gave her.  More about that upon publishing date.  :-)

7.  Clare is an old soul.  She loves to hang out with me and my friends, and she loves to be "in the know."

8.  She is excited for the summer...she has a diving class and Pine Cove in the City on her schedule!

9.  Clare is sweet, funny, a little dramatic, and just a great kid all around!  Love her to pieces!

Easter with the Peeps!

What a great Easter weekend!  We began with Graham's egg hunt at school.  He definitely got the hang of it!

Of course, we had to do a few Easter crafts to get in the spirit!

On Saturday, we headed to Deedee and Papaw's house for our traditional egg hunt.  We joined by Emme, Grandad, Bryan and Morgan J.  Aunt Morgan was there too!

The weather was perfect...perfect for an egg hunt!

Early Sunday morning, the kids were excited to see that the Easter bunny had come!

And he brought flower pots, seeds, gardening tools, jump ropes and some candy!

We got out of our pajamas and headed to church. I'm so thankful for these four.

You can see their finished craft projects in this one...

After church, we joined up with Nathan, Megan and Brody at LoLo and Pop's house.  We had our final egg hunt and a delicious brunch!  Uncle Nate elicited some great smiles in this one!

With full baskets and full bellies, we headed home where we had seeds waiting to be planted.  Each kid got a different kind of seed, so we'll see what sprouts first.

It was a fun weekend made possible by our great family!  Happy Easter to all!
