Christmas 2013, Part 2

After we spent the early morning at our house, we headed over to Mom and Dad's.  There, we were greeted by LoLo and Pop, Nathan, Megan, and Brody, Mamma, and Aunt Jennifer!

My kids all had to wear new duds that they had already opened at home or at Deedee's!

First up, we opened stockings!

Very serious work!

We had a big, delicious brunch, and then we settled in for round three of present opening!

Present opening took most of the afternoon, and we got lots of great stuff.

These two monkeys were just hanging out, waiting for their next turn!

The weather was beautiful, so the big kids spent some time outside before dinner was ready.

We had two super fun days in a row, and we are so thankful for all of our gifts and all of the work that went into making Christmas 2013 so special!

Christmas 2013, Part 1

Christmas has come and gone, and now it's time for the recap!

We followed our usual schedule and headed to Deedee and Papaw's house for Christmas Eve.  Scotty, Mary, Morgan and Jarret, Bryan and Morgan, Chris and Heather were there to celebrate as well.

The required family picture.  Casey met us there from work.

These "present shakers" were over the top excited!

It was finally go time!

Everyone was so generous, and we all got some great stuff.  Including this gem...

We loaded up and headed home.  It was time to get ready for Santa. Graham fell asleep on the way home, so he didn't participate in the reindeer food and cookies for Santa set-up.

Lo and behold, Santa came. Here is the loot!

Clare was super excited about her new keyboard!

Jane and Sydney were shocked to see that Santa had brought them new desks!

And Graham was pumped to see his much requested bike waiting for him!

Then the six of us opened our presents.  Here are some of the highlights.  A new coat for Clare!

A cover for Jane's Kindle!

Graham gave his new punching bag quite a workout!

Rain boots for Syd!

The girls got seat pets.  I feel like these will come in quite handy on our road trips to Colorado every summer!

We ate a quick breakfast, got dressed and headed to LoLo and Pop's house.  We still weren't through! Part two coming soon!

Christmas Cookie Chaos

Cookie Chaos day had arrived, and Frank was ready!

And so were my three girls.....sporting their new aprons with Aunt Morgan.

Our cookie crew was was missing Deedee, who got taken down by the flu.  Talk about a crummy time for the flu!

This may be our messiest baker, but she sure is sweet.

We had gobs of cookies.

Thankfully, our decorators were enthusiastic

and focused!

Their hard work paid off.  We ended up with a ton of beautiful, delicious cookies!

Another Christmas Cookie Chaos in the books!  Now it's time for some more Christmas baking...and this is my number one licker!

Clare's Christmas Craft Party

Clare has some great persuading skills, and she somehow convinced me to allow her to host a Christmas craft party.  We sent out evites, planned our crafts, made some snacks, and got excited!

She had seven friends come over after school on Thursday.  Everyone got their hot chocolate, and then we were ready to begin.

We made snow globes out of mason jars.

We made these little snowmen sock buddies!

We had an ornament exchange, everyone played a bit, and then it was time to take their goodies and head home.

The day before the party, Clare said to me, "Thank you so much for letting me have this craft party."  She was so excited, and I think she had a great time.  Kind of makes it all worth it!

It's Practically A Requirement!

First, there was Clare in 2007.

Then, we had double trouble with Jane and Sydney is December of 2008.

And today, Graham fulfilled his requirement!

It would be sad if it wasn't so funny!!

Scenes From The Season

December always brings with it lots of activities!  Here is a glimpse into what we have been up to so far this month!

We celebrated these two turning six!

We were sad that the ice got our big backyard tree.  You can see Sydney is really upset.

Graham got his first "real" haircut.....his first haircut that we have paid for, at least!

Jane lost her two front teeth!  Perfect timing!  Sing with me now...."All I want for Christmas...."

We made cinnamon snowflakes out of tortillas!

And we've been trying to keep up with Frank's latest antics!

Last night we had the privelege of watching Clare in her Christmas musical, We Three Spies.

They have been rehearsing since October, and she was so excited for her big show.  She was a "Christmas Intelligence Kid."

and an angel!

She did a a great job!  Our super awesome neighbors even came to watch the show!  They were all being "spy-ish."

December is always packed full of lots of fun stuff!  Here's to the second half of the month!
