Clare participated in a theater camp with the Missoula Children's Theater this past week. This group travels around and puts on plays in different cities every week. On Monday, they auditioned and on Saturday they put on two performances. The musical
this year was The Frog Prince, and Clare was cast as a Venus Fly Trap!
Throughout the week, the cast rehearsed and prepared for Saturday.
Clare wanted to make sure she was ready in case anyone asked for her autograph! Of course, she signed "Fly Trap." :-)
Her name in print!
The play was really well done. It is amazing that they are able to pull it off in one week.
Clare enjoyed her role as a fly trap. It was a great role for her theatrical debut!
It takes a lot of guts to get up there and perform, and we are super proud of our little fly trap!
Summer is flying by! I can't believe we are past July 4th! Here is a quick look at what we have been up to!
All of the girls entered the reading program at the library. When they read 25 books, they get a free book. Tomorrow, we will go collect our free books! All three girls have completed this task....some with more encouragement than others!
We were lucky to have a visit from Mamma! The kids enjoyed spending time with their great-grandmother. My parents and Mamma were here for a few days, and we had a great time. So neat for my kids to have fun with their great-grandmother!
We have also been swimming, splash parking, and sprinklering! The other
day I turned Graham loose in the sprinkler.
He kept going back for
more, so I guess he liked it!
Summer is in full swing, and so far, we are having fun. Not too much longer and we will head too Colorado!
It is always nice to have Casey home in the middle of the week, and the fourth was no exception. We spent the first part of the day at home.....readying ourselves for the celebrations that evening.
The kids were looking pretty cute in their patriotic wear.
My attempt at a shot of all four...
First, we went to a friend's house for dinner and swimming. We had a great time, eating all of the required 4th food and then some....burgers, hot dogs, watermelon, a flag cake, root beer floats, cupcakes, cookies, etc. There was food galore! Then we swam and hung out for a while. It was a fun evening.
Next, we headed over to Emmy and Grandad's to watch fireworks. We were able to sit in the back of the truck and see all of the action!
Crazy girls with glow sticks!
Aunt Morgan was there....and she was dressed in her patriotic best!
Graham seemed to like the fireworks, but the poor guy was so tired by the end. He was such a trooper!
It was a fun day that ended with four very tired kids....but isn't that the way it is supposed to be?!
You have to have thick skin to parent these girls! Just this week, Jane told me that she wished her VBS teacher was her mom. (She didn't want me to teach her; she wanted her teacher to be her mom!) Later, Sydney told me that she was allergic to mommies.
