Graham's Birthday Bash

We had a birthday cookout on Saturday night with our family to celebrate Graham's big day. How nice that his first birthday fell on a Saturday!

Graham started the party wearing the outfit that his dad, uncle, grandfather and maybe his great-grandfather have worn on their first birthdays.

We ate dinner and hung out outside.

Graham got some great presents that he seems to really like!

As you can imagine, Graham had lots of help opening his presents!!

He even got a new hat!

Jane gifted Graham her old Cozy Coupe...and he loves it!

Next up, cake!

Of course Graham had his own little smash cake.

At first he was curious,

but then he decided he didn't want any part of that!

At the end of the day, I think Graham felt "sooo big."  And isn't that the point!!

A big thank you to our family for helping us celebrate our favorite one year old!!

Happy 1st Birthday

One year ago today, Graham Charles Eoff joined our family.  I have such fond memories of his actual birth day!

Casey and I checked in to the hospital early on that Thursday morning.  I was feeling so excited.  When I had Clare, I was nervous.  She was my first, and I didn't know what to expect.  When Jane and Sydney were born, I was scared to death because they were coming much earlier than planned.  But with Graham, I remember feeling only excitement!

My c-section was without complication, and the doctor announced that Graham weighed a whopping 9 lbs, 8 oz.  I think I just started laughing.  He weighed almost as much as the twins COMBINED!

Because of his large size, they had to take him to the nursery pretty quickly.  I didn't get to hold him until I was settled into my room.  However, Casey went with Graham and the nurse to the nursery.  When Casey returned to me, he said, "He is awesome!"

And the past year with him has been just that...awesome.  He is the sweetest baby.  He has been so content in our loud, busy family.  He tolerates his sisters trying to hold him, pretending they are his mom, and petting him.  He is flexible with his naptimes, and he eats everything.  And more than anything, he is just almost always happy!

Admittedly, as he is growing up he is learning more and more that he has an opinion about things.  He is a busy little guy right now, exploring every crevice of the house.  He pulls up all of the time, he is standing by himself, and he can climb up the stairs.

My heart hurts thinking about the fact that he is one.  Knowing that he is my last baby makes the day bittersweet.  Where did my baby boy go?  The past year has gone so incredibly they all seem to.

I am so thankful for this sweet boy and the perfect addition he is to our family.  What a wonderful first year it has been!

Happy Birthday Graham!

Shaving Cream, Part 2

Yesterday the girls were painting, and Sydney asked if we could play with shaving cream.  We have done this before...with mixed results.  I agreed, and the girls were beyond excited!

I gave them each a dish full of shaving cream and let them have at it.  They made "cookies," "shaved" and practiced their letters.

Needless to say, it was a mess.  But at least it was a smile-producing mess!

Donuts with Dad

Donuts with Dad is almost equal to a holiday around here.  The girls get so excited about their daddy taking them to school and having a donut with him.  Clare has had two chances to take Daddy to school this year.  But Thursday was Jane and Sydney's first ever Donuts with Dad experience.  I think it deserves documenting, don't you?!

Every night for the past few weeks Jane and Sydney have been asking, "Is Donuts with Dad tomorrow?"  And finally the day arrived....

All parties reported a successful donut-eating experience!  What a fun day!

Oh Boy!

Graham is all over the place!  He is pulling up on everything and crawling into the smallest places.  I have to have my eye on him 100% of the time.

He seems to be "wigglier" than my girls were.  When he is in a shopping cart, he tries to wiggle out of the belt, turn around and stand up.  In his high chair, he tries to turn around and look behind.  He is always trying to get out of whatever I have him contained in.

Case in point....

Our little wiggle worm will be one in ten days!

Our Life, According to iphone Pictures

Last week the kids and I spent some time in the gift wrap closet due to some tornadoes in the area.

Graham might have some curls!

The girls were super excited when Daddy got them donuts...on a school morning!  What a surprise!

Graham sporting his new hat on a walk to school.  Is it just me or does he look so big here??

Grahams has discovered the stairs.  Soon after this picture, the gate went up.

Kindergarteners!  Taken during a field trip!

Easter, Easter, and More Easter

We have successfully celebrated Easter!

Jane and Sydney started their celebrations at school on Thursday.  They enjoyed their egg hunt and came home with plenty of loot!

Clare was out of school on Friday, and Casey took the day off.  So we spent Friday afternoon dying eggs.  This was the first year that we have done this at my house, and I think it won't be the last.  The girls loved it!

This is what Graham did during the egg dying.....he's not quite ready for that activity!!!

On Saturday, we headed over to Deedee and Papaw's house for dinner and an egg hunt!
The girls know the drill and are anxiously waiting for someone to tell them it is time to go!

Even Graham got in on the action!

Deedee has a fun tradition of putting clues in certain eggs.  The girls have to solve the clues to find the gift.  They scored lots of fun stuff!

Clare deemed herself "Reader of the Clues!"

And today we went to church and then came back to our house with LoLo and Pop for brunch and another egg hunt!  The Easter Bunny delivered and made these girls very happy!

The girls got some cute hats from LoLo and Pop!

It was a nice three-day weekend spent with lots of family!  With the exception of some teething pain for Graham, and Sydney getting a big wad of silly putty stuck in her hair, it was a wonderful Easter!
