I have previously documented my girls' fear of dogs. Recently, Deedee and Papaw got a new puppy named Cash. The girls are SLOWLY warming up to this teeny, little dog.
Clare talks about Cash all of the time, and always wants to go play with him. However, whenever he is around, it takes her a little while to warm up him. She has made big progress though! She will give him a treat, pet him, run in the yard with him and just let him come up and play with her. These are huge steps for a girl who would start crying at the sight of a Chihuahua.
Sydney is also making good progress. The first time she met him, she wouldn't even let us put her down, and today she actually walked him for a bit! She will pet him and let him walk around with her. She still isn't 100% comfortable, but she has made big strides. She might even be the winner for making the most progress.
You'll notice there are no pictures of Jane playing happily with Cash. She is dragging her feet when it comes to being comfortable around the dog. She likes to pet him, but only if he is being held. If he is "loose", she wants no part of him. Eventually, she will warm up, but she is definitely taking her own sweet time. She doesn't ever have to love dogs; I just don't want her to have this crippling fear.
