La, la, la, la...Elmo's World

Thanks to Deedee, we all got to go see 1-2-3 Imagine with Elmo and his gang on Friday night. The girls were beyond excited.

Sydney hung with Daddy the whole time and was enamored with Abby Cadabby!

Jane and Deedee were viewing buddies, and she soaked it all in.

Clare wasn't feeling her best, but perked up considerably when she heard the whole crew sing a song by The Beach Boys!

It was a fun night....one that the girls had anticipated all week. Everyday they would say, "I wanna go see Elmo."

Many thanks to Deedee for the fun night out, Elmo-style!

True Love

He must really love her.
He indulged her request for a round of Pretty Pretty Princess.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Snow Business

We had record-breaking snowfall today!
I bought the girls rain boots for Valentine's Day, but today seemed like the perfect day to bust them out! So decked out in their new boots, all three girls treked out....and in...and out again...and in...and so on.

(Sydney)

(Clare)

(Jane)

Clare introduced Jane and Sydney to the snowman that she made with LoLo while they were napping.

Snowball!

Daddy even came home from work early and joined in the fun!

We made snowmen, snowballs, and snow ice cream.

At the end of the day, we had a big pile of wet boots, coats and scarves...and three tired little girls!

Jane-ism

The other day Jane was sleeping with a stuffed penguin. Clare and I went to get the girls up from their naps, and Clare pointed to the penguin and asked her, "What's his name, Jane?"

Jane looked up and said, "Sandwich."

You can't make this stuff up.

Izzy's Birthday Party

Yesterday, Clare informed me that Izzy's (a former imaginary friend who has morphed into a doll) birthday was today and that we were having a party. Since then, that is all I have heard about! The first words out of her mouth this morning were "It's party day!"

The party was scheduled for "after naps," and we spent the morning party planning. Of course, Jane and Sydney were on the guest list, but also helped contribute to the plans. We made cookies, colored pictures, and set up everything.

Right after Christmas, I had a gift certificate to a doll store, and I ordered a bunch of stuff that I have kept hidden. About midday, I remembered that one of the things I had was a "birthday party pack." There seemed to be no better time to unveil it than the day of Izzy's birthday!

I thought Clare's head might explode when she was opening all of the stuff! The pack was complete with a cake, napkins, tablecloth, cups, plates, bowls, decorations and silverware (or 'silverwave' if you're Clare.) She was so excited to get busy with her new stuff!

The party was a success!
The girls seemed to have fun with it, and it was a nice activity on a day that we didn't have much planned. After the party was over, Clare informed me that Maya's birthday is tomorrow and Clara's is the next day. I may have created a monster....

Potty Training, Round 1

It's a good thing, they're cute.

Because potty training is proving not to be their thing.
After a weekend of three million trips to the potty, I am throwing in the towel for the time being. We have too much going on, and I didn't see any signs of progress over 4 days of trying.

So for now, we will continue in diapers and hope that Round 2 is more successful.
