Thanksgiving 2009 Recap

Our Thanksgiving kicked off with a feast at Clare's school last week. She enjoyed having her family at school with her, and we loved being a part of it.

On Thanksgiving day, we went over to my parent's house. Nathan, Megan, and Brody joined us. The weather was beautiful, the food was good, and all of the kids played nicely together...for the most part!

Our final meal was with Casey's family on Saturday. Again, the weather was beautiful and the food was wonderful! At both houses, we fed the girls early and then the adults ate while the kids napped. I thought it worked out well, allowing the adults to actually visit while we ate!

I think Jane's expression sums up how we felt after each Thanksgiving feast.
"Oh dear...I ate too much!"

A Thanksgiving Ditty

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Our youngest girl took a tumble, and her sweet face has the marks to prove it. Sydney has been sporting this black eye for about a week now after pulling a high chair over on herself. Yikes!

Jane has been working on her silly face.

We had an extra face at our house last night! My parents babysat my girls and my nephew last night at our house. Brody spent the night with us, and then we took him to church. My girls loved having him around! Brody, you are welcome over here anytime!

How 'bout these sweet faces?

One of the Many Differences

Jane likes her crib fairly empty, just her pillow, lovie, and her blankie.

Sydney, however, likes to pile in as much stuff as we will let her, books, dolls, blankies, etc.

As cluttered as her crib is, I'm just happy she hasn't climbed out of it!

Unseasonably Warm

It has been quite warm here lately (at least for November), and we have been taking advantage of it!

Yesterday we went to the zoo.
Sydney was intrigued by the tiger.

All three girls liked the big fish.

Jane and Sydney practiced their flamingo stance!

With this beautiful weather, we have been taking our afternoon snack outside! The girls love it, and my kitchen floor doesn't get "snacked!"

Today it was a little sand playing,

a lot of running,

a little wrestling,

some swinging and sliding,

a little drink sharing,

and a lot of smiles!

Jane and Clare

(I guess at some point I have to stop posting pictures of the girls in their Halloween shirts....)

Clare-isms, 3rd Edition

Documenting the funny things that Clare says and does...

The other day after church we stopped to get some lunch to take home. Clare and Casey went in the sandwich shop to get our food. When they came out, Clare was holding a medium-sized drink. She looks up at me and says, "This is MY Diet Dr. Coke."

A couple of weeks ago while Casey was watching The Cowboys play, I took the girls out to run an errand. While we were driving back home, I told Clare that she needed to go inside and ask Daddy, "How The 'Boys were doing?" She responded by saying, "I am going to call them The Rainbows. I will ask him how The Rainbows are doing."

This morning we had arrived at a park. Sydney was fussing because she didn't want to put her shoes on. I said, "Sydney, if you want to play at the park, you have to put your shoes on."
Clare, standing behind me, says,
"No shoes, no service."

A Happy Halloween Indeed

We had a very fun Halloween at our house. The festivities began on Thursday with a party and trick-or-treating at Clare's school. Then on Friday night, we did Trunk-or-Treat at church, and then finished things off with actual trick-or-treating last night.

Jane, my little ladybug, was tired on Friday night, so she chose to hang out with me at our "trunk" instead of actually going to get candy. But, she made up for it on Halloween night and trick-or-treated like a champ.

Sydney didn't like wearing the hood on her bumblebee costume, but she definitely liked getting candy! It took her a few minutes to understand that she needed to put her candy in her bucket and not just hold all of it!

Clare is an old pro at Halloween now. She loved Trunk-or-Treat and she wore her costume with ease at all three events. Last night she was as excited to pass out candy as she was to receive it.

We had a celebrity sighting on Friday night...Elvis! It was fun to enjoy some of the Halloween activities with Nathan, Megan and Brody!

I will leave you with a few more pictures of my little bugs!

Hope everyone out there is enjoying some Halloween candy today!
