Identity Crisis

It seems that Jane and Sydney are having an identity crisis! This is how our conversations have gone lately:

Mommy: "What is your name?"
Jane: "Sydney."

Mommy: "No, what's YOUR name?
Jane: "Sydney."

Turning to Sydney:
Mommy: "OK, what's your name?"
Sydney: "Jane."

I give up!

This is a "twin thing" that I wasn't expecting!

Clare-isms, 2nd Edition

Documenting the funny things that Clare says and does....

Every morning when Clare wakes up, she wants a cup of milk. Casey is usually nice enough to get up and get it before he starts getting ready for work. Sometimes, if he is feeling generous, he will make her some chocolate milk. On one such morning,
Clare climbed in our bed with her cup of milk, and exclaimed,
"HOLY MOLY, this is good chocolate milk!"

Recently, Clare began throwing a fit. After about 5 seconds, she instantly calmed, looked at me, and said, "Is that enough of that?"

I was cooking dinner the other night, and Clare was watching me. I got out some garlic to chop, and I asked her, "Do you know what this is?"
She replied, "Yes, it's where Deedee lives."
Deedee lives in Garland.

Breathing Easier

After one more doctor visit and some breathing treatments at home, Jane has officially turned the corner and is on the road to recovery.

One of the funniest words that Jane says is 'lunch.' It comes out more like 'nunch' and it cracks me up. So here you can see a little "lunch" and "I love you."

Sweet Baby Jane

UPDATE: As of Tuesday morning, we are home and Jane is feeling much better!

Jane has been admitted to the hospital for overnight observation. She woke up this morning with very audible breathing, and she has since been diagnosed with a severe case of Croup. After several breathing treatments and a steroid injection, she is feeling much better. However, she and I are having a slumber party here at the hospital tonight. While I hate being away from the rest of my family, I feel that we are right where we need to be for tonight. Many thanks for prayers lifted up on Jane's behalf.

Nice and Normal

We have had such a nice week around here. We played with friends, got caught up on sleep, went swimming, and just hung around the house. It was nothing special, just normal stuff with my three little ones. Yep...just normal stuff, like:

Diaper changing,

Topless TV watching,

Potato Head Part Wearing,

Underwear layering (yes, there are two pairs on OVER her diaper),

oh yeah....and some couch jumping.

Totally normal stuff, right?

Coming Up For Air

We just returned from a wonderful week-long trip with Casey's family. We had a great time, and I will blog about it soon. For now, we are taking it easy! We have had something major planned every weekend since the middle of June. They have all been fun things, some requiring travel and some not. Now I need to catch my breath and enjoy what is left of summer. I think Jane feels the same way!
