Little Shoes in a Little Potty

I walked past the guest bathroom this afternoon and did a double take. This is what was in the "little potty."

A pair of baby shoes. Clare had taken them out of the little girls' closet and placed them in the potty. I have no idea why. At least shoes are better than her juice cup.

While we're on the subject, I will say that Clare has done great with her potty training. She is in big girl panties all of the time except for nap time and bed time. I am very proud of her!

Do The Dollop

A lot of people have asked about Casey's new job. I guess I was pretty vague when I mentioned it several posts ago. He started this past Monday at Daisy Brand as a Logistics Analyst. We are both so thankful for this opportunity and know that it is an answered prayer.
It is going great so far. The people are nice, and he has already been asked to play in a fantasy football league. What more can a guy ask for? He has had a good first week, although he has yet to bring home any sour cream!

Uncharted Territory

Somebody wasn't lying when they deemed the second year of life the "terrible twos." Lately, I feel as though someone has kidnapped my sweet, agreeable child and replaced her with an evil look-alike!

All kidding aside, the past week Clare has really been testing her limits. If we say 'black,' she says 'white.' If I say 'inside,' she says 'outside.' Loudly. Usually accompanied by a scream/whine. I am hoping this is just a phase and not a reflection of our parenting skills!

This week we are beginning "Toddler Boot Camp." Higher expectations; more structure; less wiggle room in the rules. Hopefully, this will help take the edge off of the "twos."

Don't get me wrong, she still is one of my favorite three kids on earth. I am trying to enjoy every day with my three girls. I feel very lucky to be at home with them, and I know that I will blink and they will all be in school. So, I am just hoping this phase "comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."

However, I must say, that if this is any preview of what's to come....Sydney is going to really test my skills when it is her turn!

A Change Will Do Us Good

The big news around the Eoff household is that Casey has a new job. He starts on Monday, and we are all very excited. I am very proud of him for sticking it out where he was for so long, but for so many reasons, it was time for a change. We are both optimistic that this will be a move in the right direction for Casey and our family. All that to say, he has had the week off, and we have taken advantage of having Daddy around. Let's get started with the pictures!

We took Clare to the zoo for the first time. She enjoyed the experience, although she didn't want to get to close to this guy.

She is a big fan of penguins.

Here is Clare's flamingo stance. If you look closely, you can see the real ones in the background.

Clare has really gotten into her baby dolls lately. Here she is feeding them their cereal.

Dad's Day

My girls are very lucky. They have a wonderful dad. He wrestles, tickles, provides piggy back rides, plays in the sprinkler, and takes them for pancakes! On this Father's Day, let's take a look at some of the highlights from the past couple of years that have made Casey a dad, and a great one at that.

Hours after becoming a dad

Some down time with Daddy

The girls take a dip.

"What are you going to teach us, Daddy?"

Bonding with Sydney in the hospital

Celebrating Clare's first birthday

Giving Jane one of her first bottles at home.

Getting ready for church

Nobody wrestles better than Daddy!

All I know is that somebody, far, far into the future, is going to have some big shoes to fill.

P.S. Happy Father's Day to another great dad I know...my own.

Double Dipping

The twins started rice cereal this past Monday. They are doing pretty well with it, although I am not sure they really love it. I think more cereal come out than stays in!

Clare was helping Casey "make a movie," as you can hear in the background of the video. Enjoy!

(Yes, they are in Bumbos on the counter, but I never left their side!)

Six Month Stats

IN THIS CORNER...
We have Sydney weighing in at 14 lbs. 9 oz. and measuring 25 1/2 inches long.

AND IN THIS CORNER.....
Jane is weighing in at 14 lbs. 8 oz. and measuring 24 1/2 inches long.

After closely trailing since birth, Sydney has finally surpassed Jane on the growth chart. They are pretty much neck and neck, but Syd is slightly bigger.

They got a clean bill of health at their appointment today, unfortunately it came along side 4 shots each! We started cereal tonight, so stay tuned for a messy post in the next few days!

It's Gettin' Hot in Here

We've been outside a lot lately. Clare loves to play in the sprinklers, play in the sand, play with a bucket of water...anything to be outside. Here are pictures of our sprinkler fun:

Check out this grin. I love it!

This past weekend, we went to a "spring fling" with some of the grandparents. There were burgers, swimming, a bounce house, snow cones, etc. The little girls enjoyed their first taste of snow cones, and Clare liked getting in the pool.

Putting our feet in the pool

Sydney sporting a hat.

Jane was more into the beach towel than all the outdoor activity.

Both the girls needed some sleep while we there. The heat tuckered them out!

Ask and Ye Shall Receive

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that I wanted the girls to have dresses with their names on them for church. Enter my mother-in-law and my mom. With Deedee's embroidery skills and LoLo's sewing know-how, the dresses were ready in record time...and cute as a button.

If only all of my requests were answered so immediately! I sure would like a million dollars. Anyone? Anyone?
